Workshops: Case Studies derived from Saving Miss Oliver’s.

While the novel is a compelling read, it is also an extended case study of a classical problem in school leadership: the dificulty faced by a new leader when the community remains loyal, and used to the ways of, his or her successor. Stephen Davenport is available to lead workshops for school leaders and aspiring leaders featuring case studies derived from characters and situations in Saving Miss Olivers. Examples can be found on the website the of the National Association of Independent Schools: www.nais.org. (Type in Saving Miss Oliver’s case study #1, or #2 or #3). Davenport has run such workshops for the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools, The Florida Council of Independent Schools, The New Jersey Association of Independent Schools, The St. Louis Association of Independent Schools, and at the 2011 Annual Convention of the national Association of Independent schools.

For information on case studies from Saving Miss Oliver’s, e-mail stevdav@comcast.net, or call 510 531 7901.

Davenport will be a presenter, along with Richard Barbieri and Peter Tacy, about writing about schools at the 2012 annual conference of the National Association of Independent Schools, Friday, March 2 in Seattle.
